Cécile Clavaud

Soft matter physicist

Since December 2022, I am an independant researcher at ISTA (Institute of Science and Technology Austria), with an ESPRIT funding attributed by the Austrian Science Fund. I am working in collaboration with Scott Waitukaitis on fluid mixing with a model system of synthetic active matter.

From December 2020 to November 2022, I was a postdoc in Scott Waitukaitis' lab at ISTA. There, I developped my research project about mixing with active media.

From September 2018 to August 2020, I was a postdoc in the Out of Equilibrium Soft Matter team of SIMM lab (ESPCI). With Laurence Talini and Christian Frétigny, I studied surface fluctuations of thin fluid films, using an optical method.

From September 2015 to August 2018, I was a PhD student in the Divided Media and Complex Fluids team of IUSTI lab (AMU), under the supervision of Yoël Forterre and Bloen Metzger. I studied shear thickening, a phenomenon that takes place in dense suspensions (such as suspensions of cornstarch in water), and its microscopic causes. Here is a link to my manuscript.
